Grimgerde Custom Paint Project : 1st Phase

So, after choosing Non Grade Grimgerde 1/100 as my test subject for learning to custom paint Gunpla, I will try to upload the progress per phase of painted parts. So this is how he looks like after the 1st 10 parts are painted with three layers.

So... why is he acually flying? Well, this is because I forgot to paint two tiny parts which is actually use in completing his internal frames. And the parts location is inside the frame itself, so had to wait for another three layer to complete it, which takes about three days.

And three days later...

Right after he got his legs, Grimgerde started to run with joy. For the paint, I use Tamiyas Acrylic, Chrome Silver and Titanium Gold. Okey Grimgerde, hang on to that pose for another three days while I complete another ten parts...

Learning How to Paint Gunpla : Part 1

Looking at my growing Gunpla collection make me think that I need to start leveling up my skills. So I'm thinking of trying to make a custom paint Gunpla. Honestly, my knowledge of painting is nearly zero so I have to learn from many website and video from the experts.

The first step is to decide who will be the victim for this test. I'm thinking of a 1/100 Gunpla so it will be easier for me to do the painting due to its size. But Master Grade are too expensive. Looking at the options of 1/100 Non Grade and comparing price wise I choose the Grimgerde 1/100 from IBO (Iron Blooded Orphans) series.

Started the upper body internal frame of NG 1/100 Grimgerde. Some say he has on the best internal frame around. Im excited

I love the design of Grimgerede (even though it only appears in very few episode of IBO season 1). The monotone color of red and black is perfect for a test subject. My other option was Graze, which is also from IBO and slightly cheaper than Grimgerde. But decided to choose the latter considering the design. Will post my progress of learning process to Gunpla painting and hopefully can share knowledge I just learn to you all.

So it has been almost three weeks that the latest Iron Blooded Orphans episode was released. Where will be the next one be? Hope its coming out this week because I'm really enjoying the series. Will just have to watch some older Gundam series while waiting. Build Fighter Try? Unicorn? 00?

I also notice that Gundam The Origins series dissapear from Gundam Info Youtube channel. I wonder why...?

Gundam Mk-II Titans. Fell in love with this guy when I saw him on display at a store and thought, such cool colors (always weak for blue color I am). Just gotta have him one day. So now that I have finished building and decaling him, am I still in love?

Review : Gundam Build Fighters

Finally finished watching all episodes of Gundam Build Fighters. The story is about duels between Gunplas that can be move using Plavsky Particles which allows people to control it as in real Gundam robots. The strength of the Gunpla is base on the build quality, character skills and armaments that is created.

Review : Giant Gatling (Build Fighter Support Weapon)

My window shopping hobby made me found another treasure in discount. A Giant Gatling that fits for HG and 1/100 Gunpla size. A Gatling gun is another favorite weapon of mine besides Bazooka, and with the discount? This thing is a steal! I just had to buy it.

System Weapon Fist Problem - Solved!

On my previous post about System Weapon 007 review, I was complaining about the fist joint where it was too big for RG Gunpla to connect. So I decided to try to smaller the joints using a steel sharpener. Try to match the size as close possible to the RG joint and finish it off with a sandpaper. The result is not bad where now it can be use on my RG Sinanju and Titans.

The fist actually is quite big for the normal RG such as Titans and just slightly bigger for Sinanju. But in overall I'm quite satisfied with the result. It can now hold the weapon steadier compared using the normal fist.

Real Grade Gundam Mk-II Titans Decal

Finally completed the decals for my Real Grade Gundam Mk-II Titans. There was like 100 of them and took me about four hours to complete. But the end result was awesome. This guy really looks cool with all decals on.

Label Your Runners

My first Master Grade build was the Sengoku Astray Gundam which took me twelve painstakingly hours to create. One of the reason? I keep searching for the runner part number that I needed from so many available. This is quite time consuming.

 So when I was going to make my Perfect Grade Unicorn Gundam Banshee Norm, I know I just had to find a more systematic way for this problem. The solution? Label the runners.

Gundam Build Fighters

Just started watching Gundam Build Fighters. Story about Gunpla builder fighting each other using a simulator. Seems like a fun and easy to watch Gundam series just in case you are bored with the serious type of story such as Unicorn Gundam.

Review : System Weapon 007

Strolled around a toy store and saw this big discount on Gunpla accessories. One item caught my attention at about 60% discount is the System Weapon. I never saw this before and checked it closely and found out that it is weapon accessory for RG or HG type Gunpla. For RG you say? Count me in. I always like Bazooka as a weapon so I choose the 007 series that has it.

Building my RG Gundam Ml-II Titans

So from the four RG waiting to be build, I decided to start with this guy first. I like the color and design, a secret I can tell you is that I'm a sucker for blue color, so this Titans fits right in. The bazooka and shield is a nice accessory.

So far its very enjoyable and should complete it with decals soon.

Homework to be Done

So I have this four Real Grade homework to be done. I should stop buying more Gunpla for now and focus on this first. As you can see, I'm a fan of Real Grade series. Excited to build them all and will post a review afterwards.

Internal Frame for Real Grade

Real Grade, I love this if we are talking about design and price wise. So much details with very friendly pricing and another interesting part that it has a semi pre build internal frame. Something that you will only find in Master or Perfect Grade, and much more complex on both. This internal frame would allow Bandai to give it more articulation and details in body part.
