Essential Tools for Crafting Gunpla

Work smart instead of work hard, this also applies when building your Gunpla. Using the right tools will save time and help to make better end result. These are the three basic essential tools that I do believe everyone should have when making Gunpla at any level.

Plastic Cutter

Plastic Cutter is a divine tool for Gunpla
This would be the most essential tool of all. Don't start creating your Gunpla without one, well maybe the exception for the SD EX series where you can just use your fingers. Cut the parts from the runners by using the flat side and flip the runner to find the best spot on where to cut it. It can also be used to remove thick nub marks if it's too difficult using regular cutter.

Cutter

Nub marks will show up here and there from the cut parts. Use a cutter to remove them. Make sure that its sharp and do it slowly, so that you won't cut off the body part itself (made this mistake so many time). Some people prefer to use Exacto Knife, even though I'm not so sure what is the benefit of it. For me, a sharp cutter works just fine.

Tweezers

Mostly used to apply decals. The benefits using tweezers compare to your fingers in applying decals are:
1. You won't remove the glue from the decals since tweezers only touch a minimum part of it.
2. Easier to apply on tight small spots where fingers are just too big to reach.

One time I find it hard to use the tweezers, but I found out the problem was on my tweezers itself where the end parts are not close tight. This is a defect product. But once I replace with a different one, it helps a lot. So make sure that yours is working as it should.

So those are the three essential tools that work for me. Just make sure that you buy a good one. It does not have to be the best, just as long as it works as it should.
